Jared R. Sohn
Managing Attorney
Professional Experience and Accomplishments:
Jared Sohn has established a reputation for his tenacious and skilled approach in the courtroom. He focuses his practice on employment and labor law cases in both state and federal courts across California, as well as in various administrative forums. Jared also has meaningful experience litigating PAGA and class action lawsuits. He has successfully litigated numerous disputes, including a contentious employment discrimination case against a multinational corporation that sits atop the Fortune Global 500 list. A highly-regarded litigator, Jared is at home in any courtroom.
Prior to founding California United Law Group, Jared represented both employers and employees at two distinguished labor and employment law firms, including a dedicated employment defense firm. This dual perspective provides him with unique insight into how employers and their counsel approach litigation. Having been in the shoes of his adversaries, Jared effectively anticipates and counters employers’ legal strategies, leading to successful outcomes for his clients.
Jared devoted two years of his legal career to learning from an elite team of law partners at a Chambers-ranked Band 1 trial law firm in Los Angeles. There, he handled high-stakes, complex commercial cases and further refined his understanding of employment law. With an eye toward compliance, he also defended high-profile clients in connection with government investigations brought by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), among other government agencies.
Although Jared currently focuses his practice on trying cases throughout California, he has litigated in multiple jurisdictions, including Washington, D.C. His legal representation has also extended to clients living abroad in countries and regions such as Puerto Rico, Belarus, and the Middle East. At least four matters on which Jared played an integral role have been published in various news outlets.
Education:
Jared earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, currently ranked in the Top-20 Best Law Schools by the U.S. News & World Report. During his time at UNC Law, Jared was a member of the Labor and Employment Law Association, Student Bar Association, and Sports and Entertainment Law Association. He also graduated from the University of Miami Herbert Business School with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Law, and an additional concentration in Political Science.
